Business/Workplace Partnerships

Working with businesses that sell precursor materials used to produce meth—such as meth psedoephedrine, acetone, lithium batteries, and anhydrous ammonia—is a proven strategy for reducing the production of meth. The Washington Meth Watch Program partners with businesses and provides them with the tools they need to combat the meth problem. Meth Watch helps them reduce theft and loss of precursor materials used to make meth without imposing restrictions on legitimate customers.

The free program notifies a business' patrons that law enforcement officials carefully monitor the sale of certain merchandise. With the partnership of retailers, communities can drive down sales and stop theft of precursor material used in methamphetamine production.
