WSMI:  About US

The Washington State Methamphetamine Initiative was organized in 1999 by a coalition of public and private entities who were concerned with an epidemic of methamphetamine manufacture, distribution, and use across the state of Washington and particularly in Pierce County where the problem was most pronounced. Together, these organizations developed a comprehensive, integrated strategy to undertake a multi-disciplinary effort entailing law enforcement, community mobilization and public education, and prevention components, as well as the departments of ecology and health.
