San Juan County To Get New Meth Treatment Center
Sunday, November 16, 2008
KVIA (TX)
San Juan County commissioners will break ground Monday for a new treatment center designed to help people addicted to methamphetamine.
The project is part of an expansion and renovation of the current DWI facility. It will add 6,000 square feet to the building to accommodate the Meth Substance Abuse Treatment Facility.
Commission chairman Tony Atkinson said commissioners felt the county needed to move forward and help in any way possible with the problems meth creates in the community.
Officials said the treatment program will use strategies proven to be successful in helping DWI offenders, such as incarceration, treatment and after-care.
