Partners for Meth Prevention has declared Nov. 30 as Meth Awareness Day to generate consciousness about the damaging effects of methamphetamine abuse on individuals, families and communities.
Partners for Meth Prevention is a metropolitan coalition of 33 participating organizations and partners with the Council Bluffs Police Department to deliver Meth360 presentations to organizations in Pottawattamie County and with the Plattsmouth Police Department to deliver presentation in the Omaha area.
Meth360 is a community education program that unites law enforcement, prevention and treatment professionals together to educate the community about meth, according to Officer Mark Alba.
"Meth360 is a program that was brought to us about a year ago, and we cover everything from a unique perspective," Alba said. "Not only are we able to cover the law enforcement side of meth, but also the treatment and prevention. Individually, we can only talk about one side of the issue. I can't speak about the treatment side because I am on the law enforcement side, and vice versa.
