DEA Assessment:

Methamphetamine manufacture and abuse has shown a steady decrease over the past two years throughout South Carolina from 2005 to 2006. (1)

Methamphetamine Use among High School Students:

3.2% of students reported using methamphetamine one or more times during their life. (2)

Drug Offenses:

In 2006 there were 58 meth-related arrests; 12.7% of all drug cases in SC. (1)

There was 1.2 kg of methamphetamine seized in 2010. (3)

Lab Incidents:

There were 124 lab incidents in 2010. (4)

There were 24 children endangered by meth labs in 2010. (5)

Treatment Admissions for Methamphetamine Abuse: (6)

559 treatment admissions for methamphetamine/amphetamine abuse in 2010;

2.0% of all drug abuse treatment admissions.
